Non-desi men in USA tend to be less mama’s boys, in general, than desi men. This is the main issue we women, of all backgrounds, have with desi men. Other than that, they are good to go.

However, that one issue is a big one. A very big one.

Once you guys get that dealt with, you will get more play.

Um obviously joking, and no problem with other minorities anyway. Usually the issue is more with Indian women who automatically exclude brown men in a sweeping gesture. The issues rarely actually lie with the white guys. If Indian men did the same thing with brown women, I’d have an issue with that too.

And the strange thing about that (what I wrote above) is that the same type of affection, if actually showed between a husband and wife in front of other family members or in public, would be considered “inappropriate”.

And yeah, there is a big Freudian Oedipal complex in India.

The relationship between sons and their mothers is borderline romantic. I attribute this to the mothers who make their sons a kind of surrogate husband to get the affection the never got from their actual husbands.

I’m not saying that incest is going down, not at all. What I’m saying is that the level of emotional and physical affection shown between mothers and grown sons in India looks totally weird to someone who was not born and bred there.
